Ooh, I did not know you could do that. How long would they keep and would the colour change a lot. I thought I was being adventurous sprinkling petals on salads, but pickling sounds brilliant.
Thank you. I have an old Canon 500D and the chives were shot with a standard 18-55 lens. I would like to update in the future, but this one is a trusty workhorse for now.
My husband feels the same! I like the way they settle in between cracks in the paving and only the thinnest of knives will be any good to fish them out.
Thank you! I haven’t grown Garlic Chives before and am not sure why – just googled the Sarah Raven site and she says they are one of the best beneficial insect attractants. plus edible, plus lovely to look at, they seem to have an awful lot going for them. I am going to add some too.
Stunning!
Thanks Marian, I really like Chive flowers they are one of the prettiest plants and very bee friendly.
Lovely! I’m putting all my chive flowers in vinegar this year – looks so pretty and tastes like pickled onions!

It’s the first time I’ve tried it, but the vinegar turns pink almost immediately and looks very pretty. It won’t keep as long as I hoped! 😉
Sounds worth trying, I know my daughter would be delighted with this.
This makes a beautiful computer background! If you don’t mind me asking, what equipment did you use?

Lovely photograph. Chives are on my list to add to the garden.
I would really recommend them, they are good in salads, stem and petals and Bees love them too. Plus look so pretty.
Chives have great flowers, but I only grow them in pots because of the way they spread.

What a fantastic photo, I never thought that chives could look so lovely.
I like to sit and watch the bees on them with a coffee or something else if its late!
I have chives in my garden, too and just added garlic chives for their fall bloom. Fabulous photo!
