This was taken yesterday lunchtime and it was warm and sunny enough to eat lunch outside, its a little cooler today but still we are enjoying a late summer.
Nice capture highlighting one of my favorite things about fall. Wish asters could take a dent in mum sales because although I feel like I’m cheating, buying one in tight bud is a preference over any mum. What do you think?
Like you I much prefer Asters and planted as perennials, rather than any of the less hardy forced ‘mums’ sold over here as Autumn bedding plants. Hardy Chrysanthemums though, maybe I shall try one next year.
Lovely!
Late September and Bees and Butterflies are loving the Asters. 🙂
Beautiful sunny image.

Such a generous flower in every way.
Absolutely, I could not of said that better. 🙂
Beautiful!
I love that Bees and Butterflies like them so much.
I love the bee and the bold gorgeous colors…Really great photo.
Thanks Charlie, it was a still sunny day and the Bees were very obliging. 🙂
Lovely! I love taking photos of insects on the blooms as well.
Hi Sue, thanks me too, for me plants come alive when they are attracting pollinators and wildlife. 🙂
I love the asters of fall.
Me too, resolved this year to grow more next year.

A lovely shot. Aster frikartii ‘ Monch’ has to be my favourite, it is so long lasting.
The long late summer weather seems to be suiting Asters very well as they are so undemanding.
Gorgeous photo! One of my all time favorite flowers! And of course, you’ve got to love bees!
Thanks Andrea, we have had a really long summer over here thats only just turning to Autumn, its been lovely to see more Bees in the garden too.
