    • Things are slow to turn here too, although my neighbours huge Viburnham opulus is a beautiful red and has been for about 3 weeks. Another mild weekend forecast, so a little longer to wait.

    • Cornus are a wonderful group of shrubs and the ones with colourful stems are a real bonus in the winter. At Harlow Carr they grow this one en masse, its quite a sight.

    • Its still mild at night and we are supposedly forecast a lot of rain here, I hope it does not wash the leaves off before we get any chance of seeing some autumn colours!
