Spring blossom really is an uplifting sight. 🙂
nice ! 😉
I really liked this blossom too Christiane! 🙂
What a beautiful bloom and the name is a mouthful!
Yes isn’t it! The seed pods apparently look like bladders hence the common name. The Spring blossoms have been exceptional this year.
The blossoms are wonderful this year, I hope the weekends forecast rain does not do too much damage.
How lovely, I have never seen a pink one. Did you visit the glass houses?
Yes I did and they were wonderful especially the Alpine house, lots of alpine tulips, all beautifully cared for, hard to know where to look first. I really like the wooden buildings themselves too.
Have you any photos of the alpines to show us?
I haven’t enough good ones to make an interesting post, I took my mum and we chatted, so my notes and photos are not as good as they could be but it was nice to have company.
Yes, this blossom was really pretty and unusual. 🙂
This is such lovely blossom, Julie!
There is so much blossom this year, I hear its due to warm days and cooler nights, but this was one I had not seen before, the tree was smothered. 🙂
We are just starting to get our blossom. It’s been cold but bright here. My cousin, who lives in Weedon, Bucks has had much better weather than us. I had never heard of the tree you photographed – it is splendid.
Weedon is west from us here in Bedfordshire but we have had lovely weather too. Its due colder and rain here at the weekend and I see its the same for you Clare. Hopefully your blossom will make a really good show the following week. 🙂
Thank-you Julie, I hope so too! 🙂
Love that blossom’s color.
Me too, the whole tree was awash with this lovely pink blossom. 🙂
That is what I love about spring, the joyful colors, and the amazing blooms.
We have had a wonderful show of Spring blossoms so far, apparently due to warm days and cooler nights, its all set to change though and heavy rain due at the weekend. Hope its good where you are Charlie.
Beautiful. The flowers remind me of the Red Buckeye – Aesculus rubrum. I wonder if they are related.
I’ve looked that up and do not think so, this tree is apparently very rare and originates from China, the whole tree its quite small but was absolutely smothered with amazing blossom.
Gorgeous! I’ve never seen this tree here. It’s a beauty!
This tree was new to me too, I thought the blossoms were so very pretty in contrast to its rather odd name!
what a beauty:-) Love those pinks!
This was my first introduction to a Staphylea tree and I hope its not my last as she was covered in wonderful blossom.
