    • We’ve so far escaped a lot of the rain seen elsewhere and the early winter blossoms are really beautiful this year. Hopefully Spring and good weather will not be too far away for us all.

  1. I love cherry blossoms. Sometimes, I think spring goes by so quickly, I don’t have the time to fully savour them. Have you ever tried sakura/cherry blossom flavoured cream in a dessert treat? Divine. Enjoy the best of spring, Julie. Happy gardening. xo

    • I haven’t, but it sounds intriguing, we are in early winter here, spring is a little way off but currently our mild weather means we are able to enjoy a lovely extended gardening season. I have looked but not sure which season you are in, I hope its the best it can be for you.

    • Its nature is to flower in winter but if it were really very cold the blossoms would not last long on the trees and in heavy rain get sodden and drab. The mild weather is fortunately helping them to look their winter best.

    • Over the last couple of days I have seen a Queen and fairly certain I heard another one but not quick enough to get a close look, no other bees spotted though. This mild spell must be confusing for them.

    • That was only yesterday, another lovely day today but I am sure the blossom will look quite sodden with the forecast two days of rain. I hope you had some sunshine too.

    • No fruit that I have ever seen, but as it flowers in winter I guess that would not be viable. The flowers are better in a mild winter and quickly disappear in a heavy frost or cold snap. So we just enjoy whilst we can. 🙂

  2. We also have a Prunus ‘Autumnalis Rosea’ but sadly ours is now on its way out being many years old so it is nice to see a healthy one! This mild winter is really producing some spectacular flowering displays. Our Hellebores are practically in full flower.

    • I have just tried to link back into your blog and the link is now missing but see you have another new blog – ‘Digging for Dirt’ on your website, not a garden I have visited before, hopefully we will in 2016. Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂
